Unity Candle

Since I have so many people that want to sing I think i will be having a solo sung. I heard this song called Parent's Prayer that I think will be really nice.It will go perfect as his mom and my mom are lighting the tapers and handing them to us. Right now I cant think of who sings it but I will get out my book and let you know in a few minutes.

Rhony, I think either played or song would be fine! I am having a guy sing Finally I by Daryl Coley during the unity candle ceremony. I've heard Flesh of my Flesh sang during this part too and it's always appropriate. Allies, Parents Prayer i think is by Yolanda Adams & Donnie McClurkin.

My mom sang Flesh of my Flesh at a wedding a few months ago. Had never heard the song until 2 days before the wedding and hit it right on point! That lady can SANG!

I will have my DJ play the instrumental of a song - I don't know what yet or something softly played.

I was thinking about about "Addicted Love " by BeBe and CeCe Winians(spelling). Krk Franklin "Melodies from Heaven"

OK recently FH and I were going over songs we like and love and we both came up with Kci and Jo Jo All my life...I'm thinking of maybe having the instumental played at this time if I dont get anyone to sing...WHAT U LADIES THNK?

Allie, I would have an instrumental played as well. BUT I figure it's only going to take a second to light the thing, so there won't be any music playing.

I love that song Alvinslove "All my love" whenever I hear it, it brings back memories.I cry sweet tears of love -it hits the nail on the head and thanks to you I will add it to our list of songs on our CD.What would I do without you ladies.

Do you have to have one of those ceremonies? May be we will do candels we have not thought about it

i really like the sand ceremony idea. especially since i feel such a deep, profound connection to the ocean and I practically live at the beach it also fits right in with my theme. Maybe I'll do both. I like the unity candles because each of our mothers will light the candles on the side of the unity candles. It symbolizes both of our cultures and families blending to me one.

It's up to you! I know that I wouldn't feel right not doing the unity candle because it's so meaningful and such a tradition. However, who says that you have to be traditional.

dearest you don't HAVE to do ANYTHING and you CAN do EVERYTHING. It is YOUR wedding. Any elements you like that you want to incorporate, do it. Anything you don't, don't. you know rhony, i wasn't even considering the sand ceremony until you mentioned it. and now you have created a monster in me! I am over here looking up heart shaped glass bottles for the sand ceremony w/ pink & purple sand. LADIES I WLD LIKE OPINIONS. WE ARE DEFINITLY DOING THE UNITY CANDLE, I ALREADY HAVE IT. AND SINCE WE HAVE 7 KIDS I FOUND 1 THAT PRINTED ALL OF THEIR NAMES. IT HAS MY DOUBLE HEARTS AND THEN OUR NAMES, I'M SURE YOU GUYS HAVE SEEN THE FAMILY UNITY CANDLES. TAJ, what you are saying with the unity candle, will not take long at all. 5 - 10 minutes MAX! And I don't think it would take that long. I've never been to a wedding and it took a long time to do the Unity Candle part. The only part that made me suck my teeth was the fact that I couldn't see it being done.
